Life happens. Sometimes an unexpected illness or injury sidelines you or an immediate family member. With the Group Deluxe Travel Protection plan, these setbacks won’t force you to sacrifice your travel investment. You can cancel, for covered reasons, up until the time of departure for up to a 100% refund of your non-refundable costs, with appropriate documentation. All cancellations must be in writing.

Why Purchase Travel Protection with Optional Cancel for Any Reason Coverage?
Cancel for Any Reason coverage is not a stand-alone travel protection plan, but an optional add-on coverage that expands trip cancellation coverage to include canceling a trip for any reason. The additional coverage must be added to the Group Deluxe plan at the time of original plan purchase and within 14 days of the date your initial trip deposit is received. Additional terms apply (see below).
Group Deluxe is an extensive plan that includes trip cancellation coverage for certain covered reasons, such as illness or specified employment reasons, in addition to many other benefits. While trip cancellation coverage may offer 100% reimbursement, you must provide documentation acceptable to the insurance provider to support the reason for your cancellation. Cancelling solely due to fear of a pandemic does not apply.
When you purchase CFAR, you can then cancel your trip for any reason.
How does the Group Deluxe CFAR plan differ from the Group Deluxe plan?
Both plans have the same overall coverage including benefits for baggage loss, trip interruption, medical coverage, and more. But only CFAR coverage allows you to cancel for any reason not already covered under the plan.
Examples of some unforeseen events:
- Unexpected illness of a friend, pet, or non-immediate member of the family
- Changes in financial circumstances
- COVID-19 or similar
While CFAR offers much broader coverage for cancellations, there is an additional cost for this optional coverage and there are some restrictions.
CFAR must be purchased within 14 days of the date your initial trip deposit is received and at the time of original plan purchase. You must have paid Select International Tours the full cost for all non-refundable trip costs prior to your cancellation.
Cancellations must be at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure.
CFAR is not available to residents of NY State.
CFAR offers reimbursement of up to 75% of your insured, non-refundable trip costs.
Even with the added cost, if you’re booking an expensive trip and there is a chance you may have to cancel, this optional benefit can help provide coverage should you need to cancel for any reason not already covered under the plan.

The cost of the Travel Protection Plan that we offer are based on the published package price. Additional services such as single supplements, deviation fees, late charges, airfare upgrades or extended stays may increase the cost of the plan. Please see attached price list. The Group Deluxe plan gives you the option to purchase Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage at an additional cost for broader protection of your financial travel investment. With a CFAR plan, you may cancel for any reason up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure and receive reimbursement of up to 75% of your non-refundable, insured trip costs. Payment for CFAR must be included within 14 days of the date your initial trip deposit is received and at the time of initial plan purchase. Additional terms apply. CFAR coverage cannot be purchased by New York State residents.
NY State residents may purchase the Group Deluxe plan, which has the same general coverage as Group Deluxe CFAR but allows you to cancel only due to specific covered reasons listed in the plan summary. The Group Deluxe Plan may be purchased at any time but some time-sensitive benefits may not be available, such as the waiver for pre-existing conditions. All plan payments are non-refundable after the 14-day free look period.
Your coverage ends upon the completion of your trip. Be sure to review the terms of the plan to understand (link found here) what it covers. All claims must be filed with Travel Insured according to their specifications after you first cancel your trip with Select International Tours, in writing.
